Before & after

Five tabs per book today. One screen with VEXEN.

The sales tracker, the sales-floor group chat, the lead sheet, the chapter-edit email chain and the shared drive, replaced by one connected system. Drag the handle to compare.

Left: a ghostwriting company today, spread across a sales spreadsheet, a group chat, a lead sheet, an email chain about chapter edits, a shared drive and sticky notes. Right: the same work on one VEXEN screen.

Drag the handle, or focus it and use the arrow keys.

The story of one book

Marcus wants to write his memoir.

Here's how a ghostwriting company runs his book in VEXEN, from the ad he clicked to the profit it made. Seven steps, one system.

  1. 1Website chat

It starts with an ad and a chat.

Marcus clicks a Google Ads ad for Larkfield Memoirs, one of Larkfield Books' brands, and asks a question in the chat on its landing page. The widget takes one line of code on each brand's site.

Hi, I saw your ad. Could you help me write a memoir about my years at sea?
We'd love to. Roughly how long do you picture it?
    Maybe 200 pages?

  2. 2Lead

The chat becomes a lead, filed under the right brand.

VEXEN creates the lead with its brand and source, attaches the chat and hands it to a front seller. Leads from Meta and Google Ads land the same way, so nobody copies rows out of an ad sheet.

  3. 3Converted

Front sale converted. Then the upsell.

Rhea calls, sends the quote and Marcus accepts: that's the front sale. A week later Tom on the upsell team adds cover design and formatting. Both sales sit on the same client, each with its own seller.

  4. 4Production

    Writing, editing, cover, formatting, publishing.

The sale becomes a production project, with every stage and its owner on one board. The ghostwriter sees their chapters, the designer sees the cover, and the office sees where every book is.

Savings

Add up what your desk pays today.

Ghostwriting and book-marketing companies tend to pay for a CRM, a project tool, a chat widget and a file-sharing portal, then spend hours copying ad leads and working out commissions. Put in your own numbers.

FAQ

Before you ask.

Can we run several lead brands in one account?

Yes. Each lead carries its brand and its source, such as Google Ads, Meta, website chat or a referral, so you can look at one brand or all of them together.

How do front sales and upsells split commission?

Each sale on a client has its own seller. The front seller earns on the front sale and the upsell seller on the upsell, each at their own rate, and VEXEN works both out automatically.

Can authors approve chapters and covers?

Yes. Each author gets their own portal to read chapters, see cover concepts, approve work or ask for revisions, share files and message the team. They only see their own book.

What does early access mean?

VEXEN is being built with a small group of companies. You get a working system, a direct line to the people building it, and 40% off for 12 months if you're one of the first 25 companies. It's built from the system we use to run our own publishing company.

What happens to my existing data?

Setup and data import are free, and we bring your leads, clients and spreadsheets across with you, so you can be live in one day. You can export your data any time, and cancel any time.

How does the website chat work?

You add one line of code to your site. Every chat becomes a lead in your pipeline and is assigned to a salesperson automatically.

Where do the calculator's prices come from?

They're rough typical figures we filled in as a starting point, not quotes from any particular product. Every one is editable, so replace them with what you actually pay. Staff time is counted as time, not a bill, and shown separately. The VEXEN prices are our real prices.

Is it priced per user?

No. Every product and bundle includes users: 5 with VEXEN CRM, 3 agents with VEXEN Live, 10 with the Sales bundle, 15 with VEXEN Complete and 40 with Scale. Extra users are $8 a month each. Annual billing gives you 2 months free.
